This is a unique dramatic environment for all artistic media to flourish and to inspire new breakthroughs in process and result.

*Deepen your art in a volcanic wonderland!

NPAF’s Fine Art curator, along with our select judges and panelists will consider solicited proposals through a competitive application process to identify artists deserving of a residency at Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park. National Parks Arts Foundation, through many generous partner donations, provides lodging, and a venue for workshops and lectures and a possibility of donating art to National NPS Collections.

This program aims to fulfill and exceed goals for Park Arts Programs as indicated in the NPS guiding document issued for the Centennial of the Park Service.

NPAF will also be partnering with the National Park Service, NPS Friends groups, park partners, recognized museums, galleries, schools and underserved peoples organizations to promote Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park Artist-in-Residence Program.*

It is National Parks Arts Foundation’s hope that works produced during this time will characterize Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park for present and future generations and offer park visitors and the general public the opportunity to see the park's heritage through the creative vision of artists.
